 COUNSELLING & SUPERVISION

Help for Your Life

   What I offer

Offering  audio-visual, email, Instant Message &  telephone  counselling.

Whilst I do offer face to face sessions and when doing so I  work from therapy rooms in Shropshire, I have always also worked online. Due to the Covid situation I am currently not able to offer indoor face to face therapy until Govt guidelines permit so have moved a high percentage of  my work to online or telephone.  I also offer outdoor sessions for those who live locally.

Outdoor sessions are held in a rural location to allow us to benefit from the healing power of nature during our session.

I  also offer Supervision so please contact me and we can have a chat about your requirements.

COUNSELLING

For most people, telephone or online counselling can offer an effective alternative to face-to-face therapy as it can fit in at a time and place that is convenient to them.  There are many reasons why some people prefer telephone or online counselling, such as difficulties with mobility or simply finding the time to travel to appointments. I work through a Harley Street practice and from local referral and individual enquiries

Online counselling is available in a number of forms and I am happy to discuss with you which might be the most suitable to meet your needs.  You do not need to have specialist knowledge of technology, other than a working knowledge of using computers and the internet.

  • Email counselling - a weekly email, on an agreed day, using an encrypted secure web-mail service to ensure our emails remain confidential.

  • Secure instant messaging - a fifty-minute session during which we exchange instant messages using a secure encrypted service.

  • Audio-visual counselling via secure video conference - a fifty-minute session during which we meet via a secure video conference service.

Counselling can be one of the keys to a happier, healthier life. My job is to give you the tools and techniques to achieve a balanced and fulfilling life. After
several sessions, you could become well-versed at handling issues whenever and wherever they arise.

COUNSELLING SUPERVISION

Are you a psychotherapist, counsellor or in training and looking for a supervisor?

I offer individual supervision to qualified counsellors and to counsellors in training.  I can work with you face to face or online.  I offer 60 or 90 minute sessions with regular frequency to enable you to meet the requirements of your agency and regulatory body.

The BACP guidelines suggest:

For qualified counsellors the minimum recommendation for supervision is 1.5 hours per month, this is to be increased as necessary (can you take all your client hours to supervision within that time frame? If not then the 1.5 hours would need to be increased as the counsellor sees necessary)

Guidelines for trainee counsellors:

  • 1 hour of supervision for every 8 hours of client work

  • Not less than an overall minimum of 1.5 hours per month

  • Delivered not less than fortnightly

  •

The above is only a recommendation from the BACP. It is also a continual requirement for their accreditation process.

If you are interested in accessing clinical supervision, then I suggest we talk in the first instance, to discuss your expectations of supervision and the supervisory relationship.

I am transparent and authentic  in my approach and my supervision is offered at the highest ethical standard in order to help keep you and your clients safe.
